Overview (U):

(U) Radiant CRIMSON combines tracking of non-cooperative aircraft or ships and reporting in near-real-time via the TDDS broadcast.

Description (U):

(U) Radiant CRIMSON combines tracking of non-cooperative aircraft or ships and reporting in near-real-time via the TDDS broadcast. This project grew from an operational requirement to overcome limitations of most existing tracking systems, which require frequent emissions from the target (i.e, passive tracking) or transmissions by the forces interested in the target (i.e., active tracking)

(U) The following advances are part of the Radiant CRIMSON effort:

- (U) Determination of aircraft and ship course and speed, aircraft altitude, and the ability to discern closely spaced targets using bi-static radar techniques.

- (U) Increase knowledge of sensitivity limitations for detecting bi-static reflections.
