Overview (U):

(U) The Modernized Imagery Exploitation System (MIES) is a tactical mobile imagery exploitation system used at corps and EAC levels. Currently there are three MIES fielded. They are located at XVIII Airborne Corps, Ft Bragg, NC; V Corps Mainz-Finthen, Germany; and 513th MI Brigade, Ft Gordon, GA.


Description (U):

(U) The Modernized Imagery Exploitation System (MIES) is a tactical mobile imagery exploitation system used at corps and EAC levels. Currently there are three MIES fielded. They are located at XVIII Airborne Corps, Ft Bragg, NC; V Corps Mainz-Finthen, Germany; and 513th MI Brigade, Ft Gordon, GA.

(U) The MIES is made up of several operational and support components:
- Exploitation van
- DDS Receive Location Shelter
- Earth terminal
- Tri-band Satellite System (TSS)
- Tactical Satellite and Communications System (TSCS)
- TSS Electronic Van
- TSCS Electronics Van
- 20 ft Diameter quick-erect antenna
- Power conditioning/distribution trailer
- Support/spare vans

(U) The system has a six hour set-up/tear-down time and can be towed over semi-improved roads. It is transportable via C-5/C-17 aircraft (drive-on/drive-off capable) or it can be palletized for C-130/C-141 movement.
